Historical Holiday - Vintage Santa Display

Interior of National City Bank (1956)

When the National City Bank building at 623 Euclid Ave (now the Marble Room) was being restored and renovated, 14 vintage holiday dolls that decorated the marble interior during the Holiday Season were discovered.

The display, named “Santas of the Word”, represents holiday cultural traditions from around the globe. They are currently on display in the windows at Residences at 668, formerly Taylor's department store (one of the original big six department stores in downtown Cleveland).

Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation, with the help of Clague Playhouse, has restored them for the Gateway District to enjoy!

WHEN: Now - January 3, 2020
WHERE: Window Display at Residences at 668 (668 Euclid Ave)

Thank you to The K&D Group for their support of this project and Clague Playhouse volunteers who helped restore the vintage dolls:

  • Ron Newell (former Halle Brothers Co. Department store window decorator)

  • Candace Lipton

  • Charlie Moran
